My name is Joanne Clark and I have been dancing for Shuffles dance school since it opened in October 2002. I was 6 years old when I began, I turned up quite scared as I’d never danced before –thought I would be hopeless – 2 left feet and all that.
Soon we were doing Tap and Ballet. After dancing for such a short time we put on a short show at Christmas time for our parents. It was the ugly duckling – and that was me – I was a bit worried about it as I thought to begin with I had been picked because Kerry thought I was not very pretty – I didn’t realise that I turned into a beautiful swan. I enjoyed this part and don’t think I have really looked back since.

We soon had our exams to dance, and then another show for the parents at the end of the summer with a disco afterwards for everyone to chill – The end of term show has become a bit of tradition at Shuffles – We have the awards where Kerry presents us all with our exam certificates, any medals we have won and then the school achievements. Then we dance the show then we have the disco!
We have danced at The London Chest hospital fetes, taken lots of exams and danced in the Dance world festivals, had Drama lessons, and singing lessons, and this year we even had a Summer School – Cool. The festivals let us see what other dance schools can do but I have to admit I am very nervous about these and dance in duets or as part of a team – I couldn’t do a solo!
When we first started to dance for Kerry and Shuffles the end of term show was in the Tramsheds where we have our lessons but this year the school had grown so big we had the York Hall instead – I think its been good to see the school grow like this and am very proud to have been in it from the beginning.
Kerry, Sian and Fran work so hard teaching us to dance but so do Linda and Doreen (they do a good job of sorting all our mums out ) and I think they get forgotten sometimes – Thank you

Hi my name is Paige Benattar Iam 11yrs old and i attend Shuffles Dance School,
I have been going for 3 years since its been open in October 2002 and i have had a huge sucess such as at festivals, presentations, fates, exams, performing at London Chest Hospital and A SHOW!!!!!
Kerry is my cousin not only my dance teacher and she has been very good to me and my class shes the BEST!!!

My private lesson teacher is Sian Dutton she has helped me alot!!
She has taught me a very good modern and tap dance what i got Gold and Silver for so i would like to say thanks to her."Thanks Sian"

At the festivals, i have entered the Class B Novice Modern it was out of 8 i got 1st place, The Class B Medalist Modern i got 4th place, The Class B Novice Tap i got 2nd place and last but not lease The Class B Medalist Modern i got Honours which is the highest mark and came in 4th place thats the festivals.

The EXAMS, i have done very well in my exams i have got honours in all of them.
